Alan Ludecke was born in New York but grew up in Hollywood and attended USC on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1955 with a major in Business and Personnel Management. Alan spent four and one half years in the Air Force as a Squadron Adjutant in Frankfurt, Germany where he met his future wife Renate. He returned to Los Angeles in 1960 and attended UCLA Law School where he graduated in 1963.

After law school, Alan moved to San Diego where he worked for a short time for the State of California doing Condemnation Law for the Division of Highways. He became a prosecutor with the San Diego City Attorney’s Office.  After fourteen months he opened his own office and began to practice general civil and criminal trial law. He practiced in the fields of domestic relations, worker’s compensation, criminal defense and personal injury. He spent over twenty years in practice with Steven Denton in the personal injury field. He proudly represents blue-collar workers and their families.

Alan received five Outstanding Trial Lawyer Awards from 1973-1989 and the San Diego Trial Lawyers selected him Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1989. He served as President of that organization in 1978. During this entire career he has been active with the San Diego Trial Layers, California Trial Lawyers and the America Trial Lawyers.

Alan has been married to Renate for forty years. Renate has endured the demands of an active trial practice and Alan’s sports love of softball, handball, racquetball, tennis, basketball, and especially beach and gym volleyball. Alan still competes in the Senior Olympics in both volleyball and basketball. Renate and Alan have two grown childreen Coreen and Christopher. Coreen and Tom Sammon have made Renate and Alan the proud grandparents of Alexander and Monika.
