CASD Community Outreach
Volunteer Opportunities for CASD Members
Make a Meaningful Difference in San Diego
The CASD Community Outreach Committee, in partnership with the CASD Foundation, offers meaningful ways for members and their families to give back to the San Diego community.
As legal advocates for consumers, your expertise, empathy, and leadership can make a real impact. We invite you to donate your time, skills, or dollars to support these outstanding San Diego organizations.

(Events Vary Each Year—See the bottom of this page for our next Outreach event, or check the CASD Calendar for Updates)
Legal Community Blood Drive (Every September)
Hosted by CASD and partners throughout the legal community, this blood drive provides a simple yet powerful way to save lives. Each donation can help up to three patients in need. Join your fellow legal professionals in supporting local hospitals and making a life-saving difference.
Reality Changers
Since 2001, Reality Changers has been preparing youth to become first-generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities. They envision a future where all young people have equitable access to education and create lifelong pathways to success.
CASD often supports their Speech Night, where students share personal stories and build confidence through public speaking.
Monarch School
Since 1987, Monarch School Project has been dedicated to providing a sense of belonging for thousands of unhoused youth and their families. Their trauma-informed and strength-based approach empowers youth to overcome the challenges impacting their lives.
CASD typically supports either their Family Dinner Night or Farmers Market, offering a chance to connect with students and their community. CASD typically supports either their Family Dinner Night or Farmers Market, offering a chance to connect with students and their community.
Holiday Toy Drive Benefitting the YWCA's Becky's House (Every November)
The holiday season highlights the power of giving. Becky’s House, a program of the YWCA, provides a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic violence and homelessness. This drive supports children and teens currently living at Becky’s House by providing gifts to brighten their holidays.
Donate via the Holiday Happy Hour registration page! (December)
San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s (SDVLP) Restraining Order Clinics
Make a meaningful impact by volunteering with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s Restraining Order Clinics, where legal advocates provide critical assistance to survivors of domestic violence seeking protection.
Before volunteering, all participants are required to complete a comprehensive training designed to prepare you for the important work ahead. Trainings are offered regularly, often via Zoom, making it easy to participate from anywhere.
